xanorax - i changed the entire component to 1.1.0.205 it seems to work fine. the novatel drivers are installed as well. i now have "wired connection 1" found by windows 7 solution finding program but has the wrong dns setup. when i tell it to use the offline dns address, the internet connection stays down. when i restart, internet connectivity is restored for a few seconds and then it goes dead again. i wonder if the dns will automatically be fixed? the only problem i have with the wired connection is it really seems to get slower when there is activity in the router. when there is no traffic it's snappy and when there is traffic it's maddeningly slower. i suspect this is not an issue with the drivers but a driver issue.

windows vista was released in early 2007 and is microsoft's most recent operating system. it will continue to get updates until at least 2020. microsoft plans to support windows vista, alongside windows 7, until october 2012. after that it will only receive security patches, but it will not be actively supported.

this is my first actual release. i've been testing the beta x86 version and zandv's windows beta repository for almost a year. it is built from windows vista public x86 sp1, which is based on the final release of vista sp1. newer model windows xp oems also ship with windows vista in retail, except for some oem-locked keys, as some retailers do not want to sell that version of vista. there are also newer releases of virtualdub and kdenlive that are aimed at the xp sp1 platform.
most of the current windows vista tools and fixes are already included in virtualdub, but there are some that are not included yet. i've been fixing some bugs and adding a few new features to the virtualdub build as i go along. microsoft themselves has also made some improvements to virtualdub (they released a beta of virtualdub 0.7.1 in late 2007, and official release 0.
