VBS2 US Army Lite
I have not been able to log on very often for the last few months, maybe once or twice a week, and I just noticed something. The Army's website,''US Army Simulation and Training Products'' lists VBS2 US Army Lite as having been released in 2002. This is only the second post on the website, so it has been there at least for at least three years, which means even back then the Army was already aware of it, although I'm glad I wasn't allowed to play it in 2002.
SGI's OS was one the best and most innovative. To the best of my knowledge, it was the first ever multi-platform operating system. Sure there were already a few exsisting OSs for a few platforms. But the SGI OS was the first that was made for multiple platforms, meaning for example that it did not depend on the respective platform hardware, but on its own architecture. That was a first!
VBS2-lite has been available since late last year apparently. Not sure how significant it is. I'm not going to pay £120 for it when funzone have a free version. It has lots of features though. I will probably be getting it pretty soon.
Another thing, I came across a bomb shelter sim that has a nice RTS and pretty detailed, although you still can't do anything in the room. But there are some nice tactics, I think it's called simutronic.
