this work is a practical and comprehensive simulation that investigates the high-efficiency circuit for a large output current using the power semiconductor devices including mosfet and bjt and a discrete pulse width modulation (pwm) controller. this study is based on the actual operating points, gate timing, and the electrical characteristics of the power semiconductor devices. it is expected that the study will provide results to identify the optimum circuit design and to derive the detailed gate control algorithms. in addition, the study is to investigate the practical limits of the circuit efficiency under the different conditions, including the line impedance, and to search the circuit design and parameters that can minimize the energy loss. the simulation results are presented and discussed for the single-stage inverters using mosfet and bjt devices, and for the three-stage inverters using mosfet devices, and mosfet and bjt devices.
