If you are studying Finnish at a Language Centre or University you should have access to a copy of Suomen Mestari 2. If you are learning Finnish at the Finnish Association or Finnish Club you should be able to access Suomen Mestari 3 directly.
If you are learning Finnish at your own pace or if you have a personal tutor then Suomen Mestari 3 will be useful. It is a very basic book that will aid your early Finnish skills.
I use Suomen Mestari 3 as a reference book as well as a learning aid. I keep it handy so that I can look something up that I can not find in the daily newspaper.

You will need Suomen mestari 3 to write an email message to a friend in Finland. This is a good way to practise your writing. If you are learning alone or with a friend it is easy to practise speaking Finnish with Finnish mestari 3.

you will find suomen mestari 1 (based on gehring and heinzmann) at http://www.suomimateistarit.net/suomen-mestari1 (you don't need a subscription to download). the book is on leanpub, see here: http://www.leanpub.com/finnish-verbs-as-finnish-as-starts-with-s . this is a finnish video game made by amanita design. its a point-and-click adventure game, but also involves puzzles. it took me a while to understand the jokey dialogue, but once you do, its loads of fun and actually quite absorbing in parts. on a side note, its also colour-blind safe..you could have been colour blind and still enjoyed it! :p the game is great, with many interesting characters, a story that's great fun, satisfying puzzles and challenging gameplay. the only downside is that you need to collect some coins to purchase the items you want to use in the game. this means you have to buy the items you need for further parts of the game. this is a bit of a problem, since you can only buy one coin for a whole month. it's a bit tedious to wait a whole month for the next item, so i bought lots of coins..but they still werent enough. you have to guess what coin each item will cost and decide if its worth waiting to find out, as well as making sure that you have enough money at the end of the month to buy a new coin. you can also only withdraw 2 coins a day, so it is frustrating to only get 2 coins a week. i want to start by giving props to finns for her online tutorial called tuttu-finnish it is designed to be a 'crib sheet' for a test later on but the videos are really great for learning the language. 5ec8ef588b
