The fact that the game has no "story", instead focusing on the gameplay and challenges of dodging bullets and laser beams with the left and right keyboard, is something Steredenn stands out for. You start the game in a space shooter like mode, but after a few missions you unlock a shooting gallery mode which is more challenging. Gameplay Difficulty: The challenge comes from an absurd amount of enemies and bullets. When shooting in the gallery mode you can only shoot or block after an enemy comes into range. There's also a number of bullets from enemies that are not visible on-screen, so it's not always clear where the bullets are coming from. And in the gallery mode it's not always clear how to get from one room to the next. Now I'm going to get a bit serious here... I was one of the people that enjoyed the grand odyssey when it was on sale for $15 - a game that is now four times as expensive, for no real reason. This just shows how little the publishers and developers of spartan realise that the largest audience for this kind of game is still the loyal users of C&C and DYODD's.
