The two begin to worry about the images they were taking on the night of the accident. Curious to find out what it is on the photos, they decide to go for a trip to Madhurai, to the place where Krishna's grandfather Yogaraj used to live. There, he meets his long-lost friend Karthik (Anuja Iyer), whom he believed had died ten years previously. Unfortunately he is proven wrong when he learns that her body has been sealed up, but her soul is still alive. She explains that she was turned into a ghost because of the treacherousness of a cruel man and the pain, she endured for revenge. She feels Krishna and Sona are her only way out, but she says it will take a lot of courage and willpower to move on.
Krishna's relatives also reveal that their family was cursed by the evil magician Ravana, who cast a spell on their house. During the 16th century, Ravana and her consort and brother Vibhishana had intruded in the territory of the King of Madurai claiming to be from the Laakhsmi dynasty. The couple ruled over Madurai for almost a decade. Ravana, thereafter, turned her back on her royal and slave-soldier boyfriend and stole the golden idol from her master. Furious at Ravana, the King ordered his soldiers to behead her. Ravana, with the help of Vibhishana, killed every member of her family, except for her brother Siva. The brothers then went to Sheridahal Mountain to worship Shiva and Vishnu. Vibhishana, by now, had married off his sister to a king and ruled as the King''s consort. He was unaware of Ravana''s curse, and always looked upon Ravana in a positive light. However, Ravana, whose soul was trapped in the idol of Vishnu, became incensed and cursed her brother Siva. Both brothers were then turned into monkeys. Subsequently, the members of the family were imprisoned in the idol, buried alive, slain and chewed into pieces. The Goddess Shevarayar''s statue installed in the household, however, averted the curse. Krishna and his family are greatly upset and demand the idol to be taken out of their house.
