At the game's first volume we thought of the kinds of things Shiori wanted to be, who she could be, what her dreams were. We thought of what her father wanted for her: her love - her mother's - and her money. But, at the same time, it was a story of romantic yearning of Shiori, a girl who can't live unless by her own standards or ideals, the princess hidden in a shepherdess's body.
Ryuuki's aspiration is to think of Japan that is "great with everything about good, and good with everything about beautiful". However, due to Kyubi's curse, to think "great with everything" entails that he must destroy everything he loves. Shuurei's goal is to destroy the past. Ryuki's ideal is impracticable. Shuurei's is honest.
Not all of the events that have happened are relevant to the game itself, though we couldn't help taking a look through them back in the day. There's a lot to discover in the first volume of the original story. It takes just over an hour to read. We sincerely hope that you read it again.
The premise of the story is that a mysterious old man, who is literally living in the past, appears before Shuurei. Of course, naive Shuurei accepts him at his word and follows him without demanding proof. However, as you continue to read the first volume you will soon realise that the man may be one of the series' six serial killers.
Ranmaru is no longer able to use any "special" techniques, they either cost all his HP or they require items (knife, equipment, bombs) or drain his magic for a certain amount of time (spells are the only thing that don't cost HP).
AI ("boss", in RPG parlance) mode. In this mode, Sengoku Hime fights with an almost comical mixture of the insanity and cruelty of advanced AI and some very basic code to make sure it is still unbeatable.
While playing the game, try to understand the actions and promises of the characters. Utterances can be used as items and can be equipped (from left to right) on the character. There are some items that can equip only one of the two characters and occasionnally a third one.
