[PS2][JAP]Romancing SaGa Minstre
In North America and Japan, the game was originally released as Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. In 2015, a PSN re-release of the original 1992 Japanese release was released. This was completely missing from the App Store. However, the game is now available from the App Store under its new title Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song (Romancing SaGa Minsutoreru Songu) along with a 2017 PSN release of it for PS4 and Steam.
As we are approaching the next set of mobile games in the SaGa franchise, we will likely see more games based on the original Romancing SaGa, but this remastered release seems to be a nice idea. Still, the new mobile games don't seem to be a priority. While Square Enix has been busy updating the SaGa series on mobile, many of the ports are ports from iOS or Android, and a lack of ports for Switch or PS5, for example, make these mobile games feel more like a priority.

It's also clear that they are happy with the sales of their mobile games, and the remakes have not been controversial. So the lack of a PS5 version makes sense, but the lack of a Switch version, for example, feels odd, but it's also in contrast with the market. This remaster, it's clear, is one of the least important SaGa games to be re-released. But the truth is, we have many SaGa games on mobile and not the PS5. So it's not a bad thing, but it's a shame that we don't see the importance of porting the PS2 remakes. They are important for the PS2, but a port means less people playing the remade SaGa games. That can't be a bad thing. Of course, SaGa is a franchise that has plenty of licensed properties tied into it, and that could be a big cause for the reason why a Switch version isn't coming. At least, if it is, it's not mentioned in the announcement.
