There are more Photoshop alternatives out there than I can name off the top of my head, but I've hand-picked the top 5 alternatives below. They're all free photo editors with features equal or better than the pro version of Photoshop. They're also all better than Elements, so you may as well just use these alternatives to Photoshop. Gimp The most famous alternative to Photoshop is GIMP, formerly known as GNU Image Manipulation Program. It's similar to Photoshop in every way; it has all of the features of Photoshop, it has all of the plugins available for all the popular graphic file formats, and it is free and open-source software (FOSS). GIMP comes with most of the features that you will find on Photoshop. As with Photoshop, you can apply image effects and filters, crop, convert, correct exposure, and sharpen. Pixlr Pixlr is a web and Windows-based photo editor with many of the same features as GIMP. However, there are a few things you should know about Pixlr first. It's free to download, install and use, but it is only accessible via a web browser. It works best on desktops and laptops with a fast internet connection.
