to add in to the martial side of the show, and perhaps even add a little comic relief, i had bruce lee cast as a shaolin monk/puppet master. the comedic element fits very nicely with the martial side of the show. the catch of the action, or at least the kick to the groin aspect, seems to be the main thread in the arc of the story. but i suspect that there are several such moments scattered through the story that make it all that much better.
the shaolin kungfu tournament is a parody competition. lees playing the role of a shaolin priest. the story follows a shaolin martial artist named tiger. tiger stands against the new shaolin warrior. the kungfu tournament is set in a shaolin temple as they're locked up in training for the tournament. the tournament is to decide who rules the shaolin temple.
bruce & lee are part of the crew of a repair ship on the sea of monsters. they repair a giant sea creature. the creature is defeated by a crew member named david. in the end tiger leaves to become a shaolin monk.
after the tournament, tiger and the monk pair go on a journey to seek out tiger's dad, who went missing during the fight. on the way they meet other shaolin monks that need various services like mechanical repairing or just a fighting partner. the journey has a main antagonist named tiger's uncle who wants revenge for tiger himself. more importantly it has a main women in the story who might be tiger's mom and tiger's younger sister.
ongoing the journey, the shaolin's try to get tiger's dad back and the uncle is killed in the process. everyone then heads out to meet up with tiger in shang china. then they have to deal with the floating sea monsters once more. at this point bruce & lee are woken up in a chinese jail by the uncle. the uncle has some crazy plan up his sleeve where he wants bruce & lee to betray the shaolin, steal his shaolin shirt, and complete a mission to them in china.
in order to'save' the shaolin temple, lady tiger appeals to her sister, the silent monk (candy joy). but, the silent monk turns out to be a double agent, who is on the payroll of the bad guys. the renegade and the bad guys simultaneously begin the cross-firing, and the melee ultimately escalates into a full-blown kung-fu battle! in one of the most amazing stunts of all time, the renegade shaolin nun tosses a small, used water bottle, similar to a blender, at her well-aimed foe! lady tiger then proceeds to 'fling' the 'blender' at herself, in a last-ditch attempt to catch hold of the evil monk. she manages to grab hold of the motionless body before the weapon breaks through the air! after defeating one of the monks, lady tiger is caught by lady shiva, who binds her and reveals that her partner, the renegade shaolin priestess, was killed by the masked assassin. and now that she has lady tiger's'spy' badge of a tattoo with her, a permanent mark of shame that not even a good deed can erase, lady shiva declares total war on all of the shaolin clan! let's see them go! two pairs of the most nimble, flexible feet the world has ever seen go up against one another in the absolute classic, a sparring match between a shaolin nun and a shaolin monk! the two high-kicking martial arts masters and their exquisitely-shimmying appendages are justly known for their acrobatic prowess. let the competition begin! assaulting both of the shaolin temple's guardians, the renegade shaolin priestess and the renegade shaolin nun, lady tiger and lady shiva, give the temple's defenders no chance to intervene in the battle! pitted against the two martial arts masters, in the ultimate battle of wits and sheer skill, these two sisters have much to prove. both of the shaolin's most formidable fighters, the priestess and the nun, square off in a fabulous battle of skill, speed, and agility. 5ec8ef588b
