if you are looking for an astrology program which is reasonably priced, supports the many daily tasks involved in astrological analysis, will continue to be supported, and fully support modern astrology, then nandi is definitely worth looking at. it is cheap, very effective, and the developers are dedicated to it and are continually improving it, so it will continue to be supported. i highly recommend it.

actually, i never said ms wasn't the culprit, but much of the blame is
due to companies like halloran. halloran's programs have always run
perfectly under macs (as have other programs). of course, i don't think
halloran should have any financial responsibility to update their
software, but they are not an unusual case. most developers who do mac
programs refuse to port their programs to wintel for one simple reason -
there are not enough customers out there that run mac (if they do, they
typically use mac os). and halloran has been in the business for a long
time, so they know this. i know they released solar*fire, but solar*fire
is not a general-purpose program; it is designed for those who know how
to program an os to customize the os exactly to their needs.
another problem is matrix support. matrix has been very slow to
accept a few tasks. while they have done a lot of work over the years,
many of their programs are designed for dos and the best they can offer
is a dos-based gui. we now see more software for the macintosh,
but i think that it is at least 4 to 5 years ahead of the wintel
industry in terms of os and program design. now, matrix offers some
support services, but not all the programs they distribute work
properly (i.e. they won't run at all under wintel, period).
honestly, i think sun*soft is the best of the wintel programs, though
not perfect. however, i do hope that more companies like 3rd party
developers like halloran release mac-based programs. we need more
companies to let us know there are multiple os's out there, so they can
provide support and programs for them. i think if we became a unified
wintel market with companies that distributed programs for both
platforms, we could get more job support for the macintosh.
anyhow, glad to hear you're getting along fine with your windows-based
calculation program. if it's not otherwise a problem, i would download the
latest version of the sun*fire software (i think it's the latest), and you
