i don't think i can install win 7 64bit on my compaq accuze 2980-it has a 32bit emulation mode only. i checked the bios and got this: (f1 goes to boot menu)
hardware setting: multicore (2 processors)
pci (video card) compatibility (checked)
boot (saved setting, f2)
boot from cd/dvd rom (checked)
diskette (auto boot)
keyboard (last boot)
monitor (no check)
floppy diskette (f10 for iso support)(not checked)

i am considering buying a new model - accuze 3790 ultra plus (intel core 2 duo, 4gb ram) to replace my cpd accuze 2980, but even though it is listed on the new models there are no details regarding 64bit support.
am i stuck with 32bit or will 64bit be available as a choice when i choose to buy it?
i'm just worried that as my accuze 2980 has only 3gb ram that if i was to upgrade to the new version it would not have the ram available for it to take advantage of.

thanks for your answers, much appreciated. i am a bit confused with the version you were mentioning. is it the mbr that has the problem or the bootloader? also, it seems that the bios will boot from ram even though its configured not to. this would mean i can boot from the iso? let me know if this is so.
i am still hoping that this will not happen as i have the latest version of wintol [windows 7 home premium 64]…
