the name of the film is “gingers”. antonio da silva with it explores the image of the european gerson, i.e. a relatively common figure on our streets, that is, a man with body hair. if a tipical feature, we can add that the gerson shows images of the mangas (men with body hair) in his relationship with the current society, as well as the relationship between the “new” society and the “old”, in the sense of the glorification of the old patterns. gingers uses the view point of a man, e.g. a man who brings back the old patterns: body hair, masculinity and stereotypes on men. in addition, the images were collected in portugal, especially in the northern region. in portugal, these stereotypes are transmitted to our urban and rural culture. people use these stereotypes, not based on the concepts they introduce, but they describe them as normal. gingers took place in several countries, and took the idea of happiness further. it is the search of the indian, the african, the asian or the brazilian. or, in short: the gerson of european culture.
this is one of the more interesting short films in the gingers collection, the red hair adds something very sexy to the whole concept. the only thing that could spoil the film for me would be the amount of cock sucking i'd seen on average footage. you could stick a finger up your arse and still have a visible bit of cock.
a great little short film, taking the viewer on a tour of the uk and showing us a little of it but mostly the red hair. the basic premise of the film is the red hair always choosing the ginger over the brunette. a nice film with a nice story and one that deserves to be seen by everyone who's into gingers and red hair.

As soon as I saw Antonio Da Silva's GINGERS film at my local Red Hot Video, I knew I had to get it. I'm not sure why I hadn't seen it before but I do know that I always want to see him. The teaser was rather rough around the edges but GINGERS is so beautiful that the roughness was very much worth it. I highly recommend this film to anyone who has a thing for redheads. His work continues to impress even for the second time around. This one is every bit as good as GINGERS. I cant get over the fact that this is my second viewing of GINGERS and that it was even better the second time around. The film more than delivers on the promise of it's title, at least it did in my humble opinion. But that title doesn't do the film or the themes of it justice. The film starts with GINGERS Antonio Da Silva's own group of faggots explaining how fags are products of an inherently racist society. Interestingly enough, they stress that the reason they're in this profession is to prove that faggots can be normal. This criticism is a valid one. Just about everything is, a product of someone and this applies to much more than just faggots. So in that regard, GINGERS is a product of a very ugly society and it is probably fortunate for the film that it happens to be gay. What is unfortunate however is that GINGERS is also a product of a culture that only wants to see redheads once and then they want you to be a little more normal. So they'll tell you you're "cute", and when you protest they'll say its your wish to be a redhead and that you're already a little bit more beautiful than other fags. And they'll tell you it's all a part of the joke. In reality, they'll say you're "cute", and that you're incredibly fucking hot but they can't deal with the fact that you might actually be a cool person, that fags are cool, that you might actually want to have sex, that you might actually want to be rich and famous. Well GINGERS is exactly like this. It's a celebration of beauty, something that the site to which this trailer is attached exclusively caters for. So hey, there's no way someone who doesn't get involved with fags would be able to do something as silly as hate this film and what it stands for. The funny thing is that GINGERS is so gorgeous that even though you can see that I'm a redhead, I'm still just another guy who's into guys and isn't perfect. That's the thing to take away from this. Finally, all these guys here adore even the most masculine of us. We're just lovable. This is the best of GINGERS Antonio Da Silva's work. The subject of redheads is interesting and the themes it touches on regarding that are thoughtful. It also doesn't get too bogged down in the explicit, as his work has a tendency to do. The commentary and images may be quite raw, but there's an air of sophistication to the approach. There are things that GINGERStouches on that really make it a cut above the average porn film in terms of quality. Plus, it's a like a breath of fresh air coming from those places where porn has become so shitty and boring.
