I have just come to a conclusion that for years I have been using a 16GB iPad model without an SD card for my RAW conversion and final print images. With the high resolution images I get today, the iPad’s 16GB capacity barely covers my needs. From now on I will use my iPad Pro’s native expansion (128GB SD card) so that I can easily scale my images up to that of my 4k display as needed.
This review was well done but what is Adobe doing with the “Develop” feature in Photoshop?! The original idea of the “Develop” feature was that the artist would use the tools in Photoshop to transform different parts of a single image into separate images, like a photo composite. This way an artist could create one image from a series of different photos without having to stitch them together. The “Develop” feature is literally so bad, the only value I can think of is how a photographer could use it to make effects like a “Throw” and “Blur”, but I really doubt that they could do better than the Photoshop user interface could.
Another significant component of Photoshop mobile is what you can get out of it. And here, we are reminded of a feature that many of us may have been looking for: The ability to colloborate with a desktop version of Photoshop and its Nik software counterpart in Photoshop Sketch, and share edits to it! To put things in perspective: I am a long-time user of Photoshop who bought it almost always at the full price of $499. But, I would often cart it around with me because the feature set it offers are often worthwhile. Now, I can simply bring it along with me anywhere for free.
