I was able to avoid those problems and get the game going by following these steps:

I installed the game on my library and searched for "Lost Saga" after that I searched for a shortcut to Steam to install the game.
The game didn't seem to install on my library and it asks me to install this way. So, for people trying to install from the Steam Store, simply download the game from here and download this archive and open it by double-clicking it. If you installed it in your library without the direct download, then I hope these instructions helped.
