another enhancement to the bioshock repertoire is apparel. throughout the game, you will discover items you can wear that will give you constant benefits. what you wear can determine things like how much ammunition you can carry, how much health you have when you get revived, or you can even electrify your punch to really toast those nasties who would get in your way.

with the tried and true design of the previous bioshock games, infinite is divided in stages with mini-boss goals to overcome until you reach the big guy himself. while the story is on the rails, you often have the flexibility to go back to previous levels if there is something you missed, and there are instances where a future discovery like a key or password will make you go back to get a much needed reward and abilities boost.

as for how it plays, im not sure words will be enough to describe it. ive only ever played bioshock 2 on pc and this compares favorably. i love that games for windows live is no longer present, but that was actually removed from the original pc port a few years back. the multiplayer is gone, but you are then given all of the dlc for free.

overall, these new remastered ports arent really worth the hassle. bioshock seems to retain all of the issues the original version had while bioshock 2 just dumps the multiplayer. if you are one of the lucky people who can actually get the original port of bioshock to run on your pc, id just install that with some graphics mods. it would be more effort than 2k put into this re-release.

the second chunk of the game is spent killing things and getting your bearings. right away, you are nuked with a certain degree of authority. the first one is usually reserved for a new player especially those that are looking for a challenge. the player takes on the role of a bio-mech called andrew ryan, a little guy who is the son of the guy who started the cult of rapture.

bioshock infinite also has a number of things to say about the future. for example, if you listen to the radio station, you are led to believe that a nuclear war has happened. if you listen to the radio station, you are also told that a powerful man known as the founders has risen from the dead, and that they now control the world. i believe that this is a metaphor for our society today, with a powerful government that controls everything, and we, as americans, are no different. we are not in control of our own destiny, we are taken advantage of and are becoming more and more dependent on the government. it is time for us to take control and start running the show, and we need to start over with a clean slate. that is just my interpretation of the future, and i can only hope that it is not entirely true. i got to play a demo for the game, and it's just as ambitious as bioshock infinite looked, and sounded. i was able to walk the streets and gawk at the city that was rapture, and even try out some of the different weapons. my favorite was the crossbow, which i used to shoot flying rats with. the story is fantastic and the action was exciting. it was like shooting fish in a barrel, and it was fun. the difference in the story is that in the demo, i was part of an elite force that could go anywhere in the city at any time, and it was a huge improvement over the first game. it's hard to explain exactly why, but the story was so good that i spent about half the demo trying to find out more. while the story is still fantastic, the characters were not as likeable as they were in bioshock. the music is awesome, though, and the visuals are fantastic. 5ec8ef588b
