i have read the 1st bolognia, i actually really liked it. however, for 2nd year, i recommend reading first spitz and then second spitz. spitz provided the perfect ramp up for what you will encounter in second year. to me, the best dermatopathology book is dermatopathology, because that is what actually goes on in the or and this has more information on topical agents. i would definitely recommend that and morson, i think that is the best dermatopathology text that covers dermatopathology. again, you may have to read multiple chapters a week. first year, read bolognia and the spitz book, second year, review the bolognia, the spitz book and then the dermatopathology. finally, read morson on dermatopathology and dermatology in-review. as a third year, if you can, read morson, spitz and dermatopathology. finally, i recommend that you schedule all of your boards during your third year. you will be going at a much slower pace than second year. be prepared and try to stick to one textbook with the intention of slowing down a bit. if you don't have an instructor, then ask your nurses, residents, attendings or anyone you can find. good luck with your journey! so why did bolognia not make it into the top 5? i think that a lot of other textbooks did not take advantage of the medium that was available to them. i think that you will only find one of these books that can be updated every year, but there are plenty of other textbooks that only provide you with a 1 year old version of their material. so, your best bet is to use your textbook as your go to textbook and update it every year. i find that i have come to rely on my textbook, so if i am sent to a new hospital, i can just use my textbook to get started with my new program. 5ec8ef588b
