Great to finally get an iPad version of Photoshop. Sketch works surprisingly well. In fact it works better than the full Photoshop app. I did notice some issues building the app from the experimental SDK, but hopefully they'll iron out the bugs by the time an actual release is made.

I’m not a big fan of Photoshop, since it has become much more than just a graphics editing tool. But I’m expecting the same from Sketch, and I’m hopeful that all the functionality will be kept to a minimum, and be more focused on making users create pretty pictures.

So let's say a particular image you've created is of a specific background. What do you do? Well, if that background changes, you now have to recreate the image, again.

What if you have a plant, for example, that you want to use, but it's not a hard background? In Photoshop, you simply place the plant in the image, zoom in, fine-tune the plant, add a crop, zoom back out… Voila! That's the Capture Mask. You simply moved your plant to the background and then removed the leaf part you don't want in the capture mask, leaving only the leaf. You can crop that image later. Photoshop is an easy and fun tool, but it still has a learning curve that may take longer to master than other programs.
