I use Photoshop just for catalog activity. I have a separate Lightroom catalog as well. Lightroom 2019 is very powerful and has some of the best tools for photography. I wouldn’t buy it for catalog work, but for photographers Lighroom is so powerful that it is really difficult to find an alternative.

You can now create lighting effects, apply curve adjustments, perspective, and add backgrounds via the Drape options. You can now re-size images by simply dragging them within the Preview display. You can also correct perspective and add lighting with this tool now. Positioning and True Color are also supported.

Other changes include project management, Layers Panel Improvements and enhanced memory handling. Fortunately, you don’t need to install the update just to use Photoshop CC. Just open the installer from the Updates category in your Application window (Applications > Photoshop CC). The updates installer will be hidden for now, but should appear in a future update.
