Adobe and Google announced a multi-year partnership starting with an integration of Image Stabilization technology in Google Photos. The news was announced at the annual Google conference Google I/O, and will roll out over a period of at least 5 years. The feature will make Google’s photos stable and easy to share without worrying about blurry pictures.

Adobe has just rolled out a new version of Lightroom, Issue 12. The update includes a new streamlined interface, captures more data and performance improvements, and it should help you either produce great images or find the best one for Lightroom. One of the biggest challenges for Adobe has been providing the ability to work with natively on the Surface Laptop and our other Windows devices. Last but not least were the other big highlights such as the launch of Adobe Sensei for the Mac to power Filters, Content-Aware Fill and other extending features. The team also added dozens of improvements to Capture One, the award-winning RAW editing software.

The list of enhancements for Adobe Pro subscribers is equally impressive. One exciting new feature, the Adobe Single User License for Pro, enables you to install and extend a version of Photoshop on your device of choice as long as it is authorized for use with Creative Cloud.

What makes this new iteration of Adobe Photoshop even more interesting is that it is powered by not just Adobe Sensei, but by a range of new Adobe technologies that enable the integration of other recent Adobe products as well. Adobe Portfolio, powered by Adobe Sensei, makes swapping images between pages even easier. As new ideas are floated, they can be quickly added to a Shared Folder, and colleagues can review and comment on them via Creative Cloud. With Bridge CC 2.5, users can now make changes to Illustrator files directly in Photoshop while preserving their original settings and data.

Innovations to collaboration and browsing make it seamless for others to view and comment on an image or project while in the same application. With Share for Review, a new beta feature in the Photoshop Creative Cloud desktop app, it’s now possible to collaborate from any device with a web browser or mobile app, and without leaving Photoshop. For example, you can start a project with one collaborator, such as a spouse, and finish it with another.

Adobe is also previewing innovative new features in Photoshop, such as the ability to edit an image directly within a web browser. Explore the Gallery on the web will enable users to browse without Photoshop at nearly 1,000 high-resolution images with Search powered by Adobe Sensei, and Google Repo will allow users to search the web for images and add them to Photoshop. These are just a few examples of the breakthroughs powered by Adobe Sensei AI, including improvements in accuracy, efficiency and speed.

In addition, Adobe is launching a new, redesigned Photoshop desktop app (Update 16.4) that allows for faster, more powerful photo editing, along with new integrated Photoshop Sensei features. The app includes Lens Correction, an industry-first and award-winning set of software tools that automatically finds the optimal lens for your DSLR or mirrorless camera, Sharpen, a new update that makes the Edit > Adjust > Sharpen tool even better for quickly fine-tuning selected areas of a photo, and Fluid Warp, a powerful new tool that can help adjust a specific part of an image, such as painting over a backplate or pleating a garment. A recent Phocus update further enhances the method for taking and sharing photos using one’s smartphone as a pocket lens.
