A20 Tablet Firmware
we are actively pushing updates to the a20 tablet. the release of this firmware should not be considered a delay of the a20 tablet. we have a strict release process that you are aware of. we have been able to get the a20 tablet to a state where it is totally stable.
the new ui is only implemented on the a20 tablet. it will not work on the a21 tablet or the a20 tablet that received the previous update. if you try to flash this firmware on an a20 tablet that has already received the previous update then you will have to use a custom recovery.
the kernel and tablet specific vendor are signed with a signature generated by the new linux kernel key (in order to protect against attacks). the new bootloader and new recovery uses a signature generated by the new android bootloader key (in order to protect against attacks). the new vendor signed u-boot and the new u-boot in emmc uboot use a signature generated by the new android vendor key.
in the first post of this series, we outlined the airbase_ng framework that uses ethernet interfaces to manage a network of connected devices. today, we will use airbase_ng to manage the a20, a low-cost, wi-fi-only tablet. a20s are quite common, and use the same drivers as the google nexus line. the a20 is also one of the cheapest tablets on the market at just $140, making it a great target for security research.
to set up a network using airbase_ng, we will need a few things. the first is a linux machine with a compatible nic. in this case, we will use the archer c14, an open-source router that runs on a mikrotik operating system. the second is a tablet with an available ethernet port.
I am encountering this problem, but I am not sure if i am losing hope. Sometime ago, the display of my tablet fails to work and displays some random characters. On another machine, it is now stable.
