The expansion covers issues with the ending to Mass Effect 3 and adds certain plot points to the game, as well as a new character to the Mass Effect universe, the Collector. This summary is unofficial, and the actual names of characters, races and locations may be different than in the Mass Effect universe.
In the long-awaited DLC, Shepard and crew finds themselves stranded on the SS lost planet. After filming the events of the final mission on the Lost planet, Shepard's crew begins exploring the planet only to have the planet begin to randomly self-destruct as they make their way back to the Normandy. The crew discovers a huge mobile collector ship waiting for the planet to erupt. To pay for their rescue, Shepard must gather up credits and weapon parts that appear to be made of co-ellarium. Shepard can use the materials on guns (the materials appear to be interchangeable with co-ellarium) to save the planet. The planet also appears to be teleporting as multiple groups of energized beings appear under the planet. To the player, the planets only seem to have erupted. We will get to know more about this plot point as well as the rest of the expansion in our forthcoming Reviews.
The prologue shows the titular character, Tali, as a child. In a restaurant, she is told the story of how she met Shepard and is told that her mother was a promised heiress to the Pirate-Slavers. The family is taken by the Reapers, who make them slaves. Shepard and her family are rescued by a group of human rock-folk, led by male Shepard's ancestor Iden. The rock-folk are dying off, and Tali volunteers to help with the service life to the planet they reside on. She is promised a pardon in exchange for some dangerous missions to collect materials. She eventually does find her way to a crew that is tracking assholes that steal important items. She is taken hostage, and Shepard has to pay the rock-folk off. Tali is freed and then finds out she is to be a part of this team-up.
