i found a large archive of cracked w9 binaries on mirrorsway, a site that mirrors most of the cracks for various id games (including w9) that i have ever seen. these cracked binaries are huge files that include the game and the patches. unfortunately, when i downloaded the file i was able to get through the security check, but when i tried to run the executable i got this error message:
this version of the mod is still in testing, but you can download the patched version of the game. the version in this download does not include the no cd crack patch; you'll need to grab the no cd crack patch by itself. i haven't tested it, but i do know that you can use it to patch the game. this patch may be useful if you want to play the game without the cd crack.
this patch fixes a couple of bugs that were introduced in the 1.0.1 version. for example, it fixes the "cannot open game directory" problem that was introduced with the patch. it also fixes the "directories missing after reboot" problem that was introduced with the patch. this patch also includes the no cd crack patch, if you want to play without the cd crack.
i have tested this patch, and it seems to be working fine. if you're using the no cd crack patch, you can just replace the no cd crack file with the no cd crack patch that you find on this page. if you're not using the no cd crack patch, then there is no need to use this patch, as you'll just be downloading something that's already installed.
back to our original news, recoil games has revealed that the publisher they are working with is newly-established south african publisher, pinnacle. this is a south african studio who looks to be one of the newest and best in the industry. they recently announced that they'll be publishing the descent 3 and the descent 3: forsaken expansions. is this going to be their first game or what? stay tuned for more info as we find out! 3d realms has been around since the days of ultima underworld, when looking at the development of such titles such as prey, swat 3, and of course, wolfenstein 3d. we have also enjoyed producing several great mods for the original quake, and its successors. specifically, i am most excited about the strategy rpg we are working on. i'm happy to announce that the first details are available for this title. our title is tentatively called earth no more. it's a title that is original to us, and is a wild sci-fi rpg set in the near future, where the world has been overrun by robots. the players will commandeer repurposed vehicles, fighting rebels and mercenaries as they unravel the mysteries of an ai-hating cyber-terrorism group. i was a member of 3dr's old team at id software, where i helped develop a lot of tech used in wolfenstein 3d, enemy territory, and quake ii. i also worked on a few commercial projects (one of them outside of wolf3d) and even more outside of the 3d realms/id software business. the current version is stable, so i've made the engine available to all, with absolutely no restrictions. any information on this new engine can be found on the front page of the site. users of the original source code released by id software can use the files. we ask that you don't take any code with you when downloading this version. 5ec8ef588b
