As a Multiplayer game, two players can race either individually or cooperatively on a split screen. As you can tell from the screenshots, the NFS Carbon multiplayer will most likely have deathmatch, CTF and other modes, like the black box racing company plans to offer this year.
Carbon can be seen as the first of two sequels, the second of which is Need for Speed: ProStreet - the successor to 2009's Shift and the first to make use of the more of the Freeplay Games studio. It introduced the United States, Britain and Japan as a playable location, making the game less regional and more global, although British "street and race" is featured only in the singleplayer game modes. The gameplay was also further pushed to the limit with a more realistic physics engine and the introduction of the Nitrous and Speedbreaker refills, the latter of which can be unlocked by completing side activities on the environments featured in each of the three regions. The game features a series of events, as well as the first true online multiplayer.
Like Carbon, Carbon Pro Street is more of a continuation of the overall mission of the franchise in the sense that it follows up on the origins of the first three games and sees the return of more of the franchise's notable elements (such as rallying, sprints, and drift), although the story focuses more on the inter-team rivalries within the community and is primarily an all-out racing game.
This all leads up to the first true proper next generation entry in the series, 2008's Need for Speed The Fast & Furious, which sees Freeplay Games moving away from the previously used black-and-white parallax layered backgrounds and comes instead to a green-themed one and uses the rendering technology that was introduced in 2005's Most Wanted.
The story sees the future of the franchise moving towards reality with the development of "super cars" and this is at the center of the singleplayer and multiplayer aspects of the game. The world, with "supercar clubs" replacing the old "crew" systems was introduced. The game takes the player through three story modes, which can be played solo or online. The first is the original story mode, which takes place around London. This follows a police detective named Tom Wyer as he begins his investigations into the theft of a supercar used by the crew, the "Stolen Goods", a group of mercenaries who stole the supercars to fund their activities. The second story mode, along with the next two game modes is the highly praised High Stakes mode, where players are given the chance to take on each car club and the champion cars in the game under real-time pressure for a car and sponsorship. The final story mode is High Speed Heroes, which follows Tom Wyer through his investigation into the death of the former high speed driver, and the capture of the stolen cars of the Stolen Goods crew. as i mentioned above, a whole bunch of cars and meshes from need for speed: most wanted can be found in the game's resources. some of the meshes don't have the proper textures though, so a modder by the name of jawz uploaded them to a site where you can see them in action. most of them do look great though, so check out the link above if you want to see them in action. in all the official releases of the game, we have seen two modes of cars and meshes. the first one being the sport race cars, which mostly come from most wanted. and then we have the all-new carbon class of cars that are exclusive to this game. 5ec8ef588b
